Hawks Shut Down Leafs

Kevin Holloway had 2 singles and swiped 3 bases in breaking the GTBL single season record with 26 on the season. A 3 run double by Alex Bruce got the offence rolling for the Hawks who cruised behind solid pitching from Ryan Aida, Dan Lehmkuhl and Mark West before Bruce himself worked the 8th and 9th for the save.

The Hawks travel to the Hap Walters Tournament this weekend with round robin games against the Strathroy Royals, Burlington Junior Bulls and Milton Red Sox. The Hawks then return home Tuesday July 24th for a GTBL tilt against the Martingrove Sox.

Hawk Droppings:

-Holloway now sits alone atop the GTBL record books with 26 stolen bases and counting

-Lehmkuhl evens his record to 2-2 on the season

-Alex Bruce has amassed 4 doubles and 8 RBI in the last 3 games

-Dan Nicoletta is riding a 4 game hitting streak (8-17 6SB, 3RBI)
