The Newmarket Hawks came out flat against GTBl rivals East York Bulldogs on Sunday as they get their first lose in a 7-1 game.
The Hawks rode a complete game pitching performance by Adam Kallio as the sticks woke up en route to an 11-1 victory over the Burlington Brants. Burlington took a quick lead in the top of the first with an unearned run after a hit and an error.
The Newmarket Hawks won a pitching duel against the Peterborough River Dogs 2-1 to win their first game of the Eliminations. Victor Simon took a no hitter in the fifth and finished with a complete game 3 hitter as he out duelled River Dogs Brad Grieverson.
After a reasonably successful Hap Walters Tournament, the Newmarket Hawks played host last night to the Martingrove White Sox.
