This past Saturday saw the Newmarket Hawks host their annual baseball clinic for the Newmarket Baseball Association players. The clinic was split into two session with 50 players aged 7-9 in the morning and 30 players aged 10-13 in the afternoon. Instruction included Baserunning, Throwing, Hitting and Fielding.
The Newmarket Hawks traveled to Peterborough on Wednesday night with a storm chasing them the whole way. As the skies opened up for 20 minutes of solid rain, the River Dogs and Hawks still managed to get part of the game in.
Massive Thunderstorms and torrential rain have resulted in the park permits being pulled for Tuesday's game against Martingrove. The Hawks resume action Wednesday night in Peterborough.
The Town of Newmarket has announced that park permits will not be available until at least April 29, 2013 due to field conditions. The scheduled practices for April 26th and April 28th are now cancelled.
